Nearly 30 million workers are exposed to hazardous noise during an average work day. Any noise above 85 decibels can cause hearing loss! In the recycling industry this is a serious issue. I said, in the recycling industry this is a serious issue! This could be an issue that we continue to laugh at but what important things are we missing?
OSHA's mission is to assure every man and women in the nation experiences safe and healthful work conditions . As part of this goal, OSHA established the Ocupational Noise Exsposure Standard, 29CFR 1910.95, to provide requirements for protecton against effects of noise exsposure on employee hearing. This standard also has a list of employee requirements. |
